'ParaNorman' Fights Zombies And Ghouls In New Trailer
What's a boy to do if he has the special ability to speak to the dead and his town becomes infested by zombies? According to the new teaser trailer for "ParaNorman," the answer is to apparently take it with a grain of salt. The upcoming 3D stop-motion animated film, due out in August, comes from "Coraline" director Chris Butler and "The Tale of Despereaux" helmer Seth Fell. "ParaNorman" definitely aligns itself thematically with "Coraline," especially with Donovan's "Season of the Witch" being played in the background of the trailer. The teaser focuses more on the creepy, impressive stop-motion animation in the movie than on any sort of plot line, but it is better-served by that. The next trailer released can spend its time showing off "ParaNorman's" impressive voice cast. "The Road" and "Let Me In" star Kodi Smit-McPhee voices the film's titular character. Norman Babcock is a misunderstood local boy who has the ability to speak with the dead. That comes in handy when his town comes under siege by zombies. But Norman will also face off against ghosts, witches and other ghouls to help save his friends and family, all of which are shown off in the trailer. Leslie Mann plays Norman's mother and Anna Kendrick plays his sister in the movie. Actors like Casey Affleck, John Goodman and Christopher Mintz-Plasse also lend their vocal skills. "ParaNorman" hits theaters on August 17, 2012. Are you looking forward to this movie? Tell us in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Directed by Ben Sombogaart. Script, Marieke van der Pol, in line with the novella by Tessa p Loo.With: Halina Reijn, Tineke Caels, Wim Opbrouck, Edwin p Vries, Monique van p Ven.Beauty is not the only real factor that's skin-deep in "Isabelle," the most recent film from Nederlander vet helmer Ben Sombogaart. Adaptation of the novella by local scribe Tessa p Loo recounts an ugly Belgian woman's revenge on visual appearance by depriving a glamorous Nederlander actress she keeps kept in her basement. Crazy setup is not redeemed by any mental insight, rather playing just like a horror aspirant which includes way too much twaddle. Tepidly received in your area by crix and auds alike, the pic is going to be consigned to cult auds. Using a reliable team that produced huge B.O. hits ("Bride Flight," "Twin Siblings"), Sombogaart here provides a movie sewn together by bad choices. Film writer Marieke van der Pol appear unsure how you can fuse the story's philosophical undercurrents (which explore beauty and ugliness, art and consumption) using its more Medieval genre elements. Stockholm syndrome of actress Isabelle (Halina Reijn, charming but no conventional beauty) is hardly credible, while her captor (Tineke Caels, under lots of makeup) does not suggest ugliness a lot like a Botox treatment experiment gone wrong. Tech package is hit-and-miss, with unnecessarily harsh lighting in glamour shots.Camera (color, widescreen), Piotr Kukla editor, Herman P. Investment Firm Cuts Its AOL Stake from 10.3% to 3.7%
NY - Investment firm FMR LLC, the parent of Fidelity Management & Research Co., has slashed its stake in AOL to less than 5 percent, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday. It had raised its stake in AOL to 10.32 percent in July when the stock was trading around $20. As of noon on Tuesday, the stock was up 1 percent at $13.20. The sale of AOL stock by the finance company comes as Wall Street observers have debated the outlook for AOL, whose stock hit a 52-week low of $10.06 in August after the online company, led by CEO Tim Armstrong, reduced some financial guidance for 2011. Some took that as a sign that the company's turnaround wasn't going as smoothly as they had hoped. The Securities and Exchange Commission requires companies to disclose when they hold more than 5 percent in a publicly traded company and when they fall below that threshold. Companies don't have to disclose reasons for reducing their stake though. In Tuesday's filing, Fidelity parent FMR LLC said the firm now beneficially owns 3,999,679 shares, or a 3.739 percent stake in AOL. An AOL spokeswoman had no comment on the stock sale. AOL recently unveiled a big push into professional online video to further drive Web traffic and advertising revenue. Email: Georg.Szalai@thr.com Twitter: @georgszalai Related Topics AOL

Tommy Lee Jones Got Paid a Lot More Money Than He Was Supposed to for 'No Country for Old Men'
It looks like Tommy Lee Jones was on the right end of a major contract error. Jones was supposed to get bonus money when his film 'No Country for Old Men' hit a certain gross target overseas, but the actor was instead awarded the money when box office receipts were only half the target (this happened due to a costly error in Jones' contract). When Paramount decided to hold off on giving him the bonus, Jones sued and was eventually awarded $15 million. That's where things get really confusing. After the Tommy Lee Jones payout, Paramount was sued by Marathon Funding, an investor in the movie. The studio was trying to off-set the loss of the money from the Jones lawsuit, so they decided to charge Marathon $3.75 million. In turn, Marathon sued, claiming breach of fiduciary duty. The Marathon/Paramount lawsuit is currently in progress. Looks like the only one who came out on top in this fiasco is Jones. Maybe Anton Chigurh was his lawyer.
