ITV to evolve Du Maurier's 'Scapegoat'
LONDON -- ITV has greenlit a period of time film according to Daphne du Maurier's novel, "The Scapegoat," written and helmed by Charles Sturridge. Pic may have a theatrical release following its broadcast on ITV1 within the U.K. "The Scapegoat" stars Matthew Rhys, who performed Kevin Master in U.S. skein "Siblings and Siblings," and seasoned British thesp Eileen Atkins. The 100-minute film is going to be created by Sarah Beardsall and Dominic Minghella's production company Island Pictures. The storyline is occur England throughout 1952 because the nation prepares for that coronation of Elizabeth II, and involves two males from completely different skills who look almost identical. ITV's drama topper Laura Mackie stated: "'The Scapegoat' is really a terrific, suspenseful script featuring figures with sinister motivations and dark secrets. "We have desired to adapt a Daphne Du Maurier novel for a while and we are thrilled we've this chance with 'The Scapegoat.'" Worldwide theatrical distribution is going to be handled by Content Film.
